The working principle of DC sockets
A DC socket is an interface that connects a battery or power supply to electrical equipment through wires, achieving the transmission of direct current. It consists of two parts: a plug and a socket. The plug is inserted into the socket and transmits direct current to the electrical equipment through the contact between the contact piece and the spring piece. DC sockets usually have high current capacity and can meet the power needs of various devices.

The first step we should take when connecting the plug is to connect the inner core to the power input. Then, the remaining two ends are connected to the positive and negative poles respectively according to the situation. The positive and negative poles of DC plugs are generally internal positive and external negative, but the specific situation is still determined by the specific equipment circuit. In general, circuits are mainly composed of NPN polarity components. So for this type of circuit, the outer shell of the source plug should be connected to the negative pole of the power supply, while the inner core should be connected to the positive pole.

The DC socket is composed of three pins. Pin 1 represents the common pole, which means negative pole. Pin 2 and pin 3 are the same pole, which means positive pole. Pin 2 uses internal power, and pin 3 uses external power.
During normal use, pins 2 and 3 are in a conductive state. With an internal power supply, when an external power supply is inserted, pins 3 and 2 are disconnected, and pin 3 is directly connected. The external power supply is supplied through pins 1 and 3, and pin 2 is now disconnected.

Precautions for using DC power sockets
1. Before use, check if the markings on the DC power socket are complete, including the power supply nature symbol, rated current value, and relevant warning messages.
2. DC sockets should be used with devices that match their rated current value. Do not plug high-power household devices into DC power sockets with lower rated current values.
3. DC power sockets must never come into contact with water, as internal circuits may experience short circuits or other phenomena when in contact with water.
If a malfunction is found in the DC socket during use, do not disassemble and repair it yourself. Due to the complex wiring of DC power sockets, if not taken seriously, there is a high possibility of safety accidents. Therefore, professional technicians should be invited to repair or replace them.
